Father and Son from Georgia Debut New 1966 Nova with Glass Roll Up/Down Windows & Factory Trim. Todd & Kline Whitley

While the weather has been unpredictable, father and son Todd and Kline Whitley from Warner Robins, GA, have a reason to celebrate amidst the chaos— the completion of their beautiful 1966 Chevy II.

The build first began with the base chassis being completed by Dennis Deal at DRD Race Cars. The Whitney’s then transported the car to Maddox Race Cars in Piedmont, South Carolina, a shop the Whitleys can’t praise enough.

The Whitley’s have always wanted a 6.0 certified chassis car with factory appearance and they ultimately decided on a 1966 Nova. So, you get the best of both worlds. A fast car with glass roll up/down windows.

“Kip Maddox pieced the car together with new steel panels, ensuring every detail fit perfectly with the factory trim and glass windows. He brought our vision to life,” Todd Whitley shared.

“The only original items on the car are the doors and the front end. The rest has been rebuilt to perfection.”

When asked why they chose a 1966 Chevy II, Todd Whitley was clear: “It’s the best-looking car. I picked the ’66 over the ’67 because I prefer the headlight bezels on the ’66.”

The car also stays true to its classic roots with an all-steel body, glass roll-up windows, and even steel bumpers.

What classes will he compete in? Super Pro, brackets primarily. Though we built it to be able to run in any class. This car has a removable delay box if we ever wanted to run in foot brake. The car is built to top sportsman specs.
