Fortunately, Drag Racer Chad McElveen was out assisting Tylertown, MS Volunteer fire department with helping victims after tornado #1 when his home was in the direct path of a second tornado that came through his area yesterday.
Chad lost everything including his home, shop, motorhome, trailer, and race car (dragster). However, Chad was not in the home because he was volunteering his time to help community victims.
Racer Jim Blake said “ We can and will fix all of that because he’s still with us and that’s why I’m thankful tonight.”
“Thanks you to all my friends and racing family who have contacted me today to make sure we are OK. The bracket racing community is a special group of people.”
“It has been a devastating day in Walthall county with 2 major tornados crossing the county in less than an hour. To see such destruction in your community is heart breaking,” he added.
Reports show over 34 dead across the US as the fierce storms crossed our territories yesterday. DragCoverage extends our deepest condolences to those families and wish Chad and everyone impacted a speedy recovery.
