Gulfport, MS — DragCoverage.com kicked off it’s Inaugural Gulf Coast Drag Fest at Gulfport Dragway on Friday, May 2nd and although Mother Nature attempted to win the weekend, the event was pushed to Sunday resulting in a HUGE attendance at the beautiful Coast Mississippi Facility.
Sunday produced beautiful weather as Scott Taylor debuted his new Bad Habitz Built 1969 Camaro in the Outlaw Promod Class, to not only support his local home track, but to test for his upcoming 2025 Speed Promotions Season which heads to California this weekend.
Well, the weekend turned out to be one of the most memorable weekends for Taylor, winning the event at his home track in front of family and friends.
What made the weekend even more special was his dad riding with him the entire weekend. Scott Taylor printed a photo AT the event with the help of the event photographer and taped it on the dash of his dad winning a championship at Gulfport Dragway .
The color of the new “Goldie Camaro” was chosen in honor of his father who once won a championship at Gulfport Dragway!
Taylor said “what a weekend we had. Definitely the most memorable race weekend of my life. The Lil Goldie tribute car had an amazing first outing. I don’t think the debut could have went any better. We started off with winning best appearing hot rod and then # 1 qualifier and finished up with an event win. I could feel my parents presence all weekend.”
“Thank you Bad Habitz Fabrication for building such a great hotrod. I know how much time you dedicated to this project as you knew how much this build meant to me. Thank you to your whole team Jeremy, BJ, Pat and Christian.”

“Thank you, Mike Cameron, I couldn’t do any of this without you.”
“Alvin Creel, thanks for all of your help this weekend, and Alicia Creel for your help with merch!”
