Gulfport, MS — The Inaugural DragCoverage Gulf Coast Drag Fest at Gulfport Dragway will be one of the most incredible events we have ever promoted as a website. Scott Taylor won the Outlaw Promod Class during his debut of his new Bad Habitz built 1969 Camaro. Jerry Bird defeated long-time rival Kyle Megginson in the Southern Nitrous Promod Association (SNRA) final round.
The build-up and hype of this matchup before the final round was as high as any matchup we’ve ever covered since starting our magazine 20+ years ago.
Both drivers were anxious and eager to stage as many bragging rights as possible, finally contesting one of the biggest drag racing rivalries in the South.
Jerry Bird and the Bird Boyz took the win light over the 2023 SNRA Champion Kyle Megginson, as the New Orleans base team cheered for joy as the left-lane win light came on, crowing Bird the 2025 Drag Fest Champion.
Jerry Bird said, “It’s been over a year and a half since we won a race, and this feels good. Kyle and I have been back and forth for some time now, and it feels good to put the trash talk to rest finally.”
“We turned the car up on the last pass, and it was our best pass of the weekend.”
Congratulations to Jerry Bird and the Bird Boyz on winning the Inaugural Drag Coverage Drag Fest at Gulfport Dragway!
