A severe storm tore through the Chattanooga area just before the highly anticipated heads-up race weekend at Brainerd Motorsports Park in Ringgold, Georgia, leaving a trail of damage and forcing the event’s cancellation.
Racers were already on-site, ready to compete, but the storm’s high winds and heavy rain caused significant damage to the track facilities, including bleachers, fencing, and surrounding infrastructure. Thankfully, everyone is safe, with no injuries reported.
The track posted “Racers were teaming together to keep their awning from flying away and everyone was trying to find a safe place to hide. The awnings were ripped off the bleachers and wrapped themselves in the power lines, damaged bleachers, many trees fell, and the track is just a mess.”
We’re sending heartfelt wishes for a speedy recovery to the Brainerd team.
Let’s come together to support this great track as they rebuild—check out their schedule at brainerdmotorsports.com and show up for their next event!
