After 67 years in the drag racing and fabrication industry, S&W Performance Group has officially announced it will close its doors.

In a candid and detailed statement, the company acknowledged months of customer frustration surrounding communication issues, delayed orders, and fulfillment challenges. Leadership admitted they fell short of the standard racers had come to expect and said the decision to close followed extensive reflection and evaluation.
S&W, a household name since 1959 — particularly throughout the Eastern Pennsylvania racing scene — built its reputation on chassis, roll cages, suspension components, engine mounts, and custom fabrication solutions that powered grassroots race cars across the country.

Over the past four years, the company underwent new ownership and launched modernization efforts including machinery upgrades, system updates, and e-commerce expansion. While improvements were made, equipment failures, documentation gaps, employee turnover, and internal disagreements created mounting operational strain. The resignation of key employees — including two longtime staff members who later launched Liberty Race Cars and Fabrication — further disrupted sales and order fulfillment. Financial pressures eventually led to the facility being placed into auction.
Despite continued recovery efforts, leadership determined that closing was the most responsible path forward.
All pending orders are still being worked, and refunds are being processed. A final inventory sale — approximately 40% off — will be announced soon.
