Heartland Park Topeka Listed for Sale as Data Center Site
One of drag racing’s most recognizable facilities could soon have a very different future.

In 2025, the IHRA announced it had acquired Heartland Park Topeka, creating excitement throughout the drag racing community about the possibility of bringing the legendary facility back to life. Now, just a few months later, the property has officially been listed for sale as a 621-acre redevelopment site being marketed for data center development.
The property, located at 7530 SW Topeka Boulevard in Wakarusa, Kansas, is being offered by CBRE, one of the world’s largest commercial real estate firms, with the sale price listed as “Contact Broker for Pricing.” The listing describes the property as “Data Center For Sale – Available Immediately,” highlighting its potential for large-scale redevelopment.

For racers, Heartland Park Topeka is much more than just real estate. The legendary facility hosted NHRA national events, divisional races, sportsman competition, road racing, and countless grassroots events over the years. It became the backdrop for unforgettable moments and memories shared by racers and fans from across the country.
While no buyer has been announced, the listing marks another major chapter in the history of one of drag racing’s most iconic venues. A facility that once represented hope for the future of racing now appears poised for an entirely different future.
