STEELE, AL — Clifford and Mary Sue Walker of Pikeville, Tennessee, took home the Wrapid Graphics Best Appearing Car Award at the 2016 DragCoverage Night of Fire at Alabama International Dragway.
Their sharp 1967 Chevrolet Nova was a standout in the pits, combining classic Chevy styling with the clean, purpose-built look of a true grassroots race car.
The Walkers run Footbrake in the Nova, and it has plenty of performance to back up its looks. Powered by 522 cubic inches and backed by a Powerglide transmission, the Nova has run 6.11 seconds at 114 MPH in the eighth-mile.
The Wrapid Graphics Best Appearing Car Award recognizes racers who put the extra effort into the appearance, craftsmanship and presentation of their machines, and the Walkers’ ’67 Nova certainly earned the honor.
