Carl Widner’s race car was hit in the staging lanes at Bristol Dragway yesterday evening, leaving a car he’s poured his heart into for nearly 30 years badly damaged.
Carl, from Elizabethton, TN said “It absolutely kills me to look at the pictures seeing it in this shape,” Carl said. He thanked everyone who jumped in to help when he was too shaken to know what to do: “A true racing family will be there for you no matter what!”
Just a reminder to always keep your head on a swivel and remain vigilant, even when you’re in the staging lanes so that everyone goes home safe.
Fortunately Carl and everyone is ok. We wish him a speedy recovery.
