The racing community is mourning Russell “Scott” Perkins, founder of SP Carburetors, who passed away October 11.
Scott grew up around the dragstrip, working alongside his dad on cars and carburetors. His career included Holley and Quick Fuel Technology, while his work at Dale Meers Racing Engines helped spark his passion for carburetors.
In 2007, he turned that passion into SP Carburetors, building thousands of custom carburetors tailored to his customers’ needs.
Along the way, Scott built friendships throughout the racing community, sharing his knowledge and helping fellow racers pursue their passion.
