Folk Race Cars Built Dragsters adds Million Dollar Race Winner Tucker Kanselaar to the list of Elite Racers

(Durand, IL) — Dragster No.1 from the Folk Race Cars stable debuted in May 2022 and Nick Folk parked this newly engineered dragster design into the winner’s circle for $50,000 and a total of five final rounds. This is no surprise as for one, Folk Race Cars has been building competitive door cars since 1984 and secondly, Nick Folk is a previous NHRA World Champion.

After Nick parked the No.1 car into the winners circle, attention quickly gravitated towards the new Folk Race Cars built Dragster. Racers quickly saw the quality of work, craftsmanship, and engineering that the family owned business dedicates to provide the most competitive dragster on the market. In fact, after winning the 2022 Million Dollar Race, the youngster Tucker Kanselaar announced that he will be ordering at Folk Race Cars built dragster.

The list of orders continues to grow quickly with elite racers excited to get behind the wheel of a Folk Race Cars Built Dragster.

Slate Cummings: multi-NHRA and IHRA World Champion who has also won multiple big buck bracket races has joined the list of orders for a Folk Race Cars built dragster.

Tony Pontillo – NHRA Comp Eliminator racer and owner of Don’s Garage in Kenosha, WI. His wife Karla Pontillo will be taking on the driving duties in Super Comp, Top Dragster, and various bracket races.

Troy and Shanna Stone – owner of Vintage Trailers. The team will be competing in NHRA Super Comp with a main focus on premier bracket racing. Shanna will be driving.

Mitchell Clary – The Overkill Motorsports team will be replacing the legendary “Fancy” dragster with a Folk Race Cars Dragster. Troy Williams, Gary Williams, Donovan Williams, and Stephen McCrory will be driving.

Ryan Herem – the California native will pilot his Folk Race Cars Dragster in NHRA events and various bracket races on the West Coast.

Tucker Kanselaar – the young Million Dollar Race Winner is a fierce mid-west competitor. After winning the original Million Dollar race back in October, Kanselaar told his dad that he wanted a Folk Race Cars built Dragster.

David Wright – Texas Bracket Racer David Wright will own the first Texas based dragster from Folk Race Cars and will enter multiple bracket races across the South East.

Brian Folk – IHRA World Champion, Moroso 5-Day Points Champion and recent SFG Bradenton Winner will be campaigning a Folk Race Cars built Dragster.

Nick Folk said “we are excited to have such a stout list of racers order cars and the we continue to get orders as the word continues to spread. I know this list of racers will represent the hard work and dedication that we put into these dragsters.”

Folk Race Cars went back to the conventional dual rear shock setup. “We believe if cars were supposed to have a mono shock, Pro Stock, Promod, and other door car classes would have them by now,” Folk said.

Other features include added features to help stop premature breaking of chassis uprights,, front struts, slip joints, carbon fiber body, carbon dash, carbon floor, carbon tunnel, and the most important feature – a beer holder for the winner’s circle.

Folk Race Cars has also addressed a well known problem with the carbon bodies. Folk said, “we love the carbon bodies but it creates a problem where the side back panels match up to the main body. The only proper way to fix that was to have a molded side panel made that has a conventional step on it like a aluminum body would have. So that what we did and it 100% improved the looks of the cars”.

“We’ve been constantly working with Eric Davis from Penske Shocks and Dave Connolly with Competitive Suspension to get what we feel will be the absolute best valving and shock setting a fast bracket car can get. These cars are getting faster and faster”

“There’s just so many people to thank and Jon Biagi, our shop foreman who also races top dragster, is one of the top on the list that we are grateful for. His knowledge of being able to get fast cars down the track is invaluable. He’s been 5.90’s (1/4 mile) in a dragster and his knowledge on these cars shows.”
