And when we say clean, we\u2019re not just talking about the welds. Jared Tucker, the man behind the madness, runs such a spotless operation that locals jokingly call his shop the \u201cAnal Barn.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"341\" data-end=\"663\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/DragCoverage.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/img_4064-1.jpg\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2998\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1500\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"665\" data-end=\"1169\">Jared has been obsessed with speed for as long as he can remember. But unlike manyin the game, he didn\u2019t grow up in a racing family or pit crew. \u201cI didn\u2019t have the money to pay people, so I had to figure it out myself,\u201d he explains. What started as a passion project turned into a full-time operation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"665\" data-end=\"1169\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/DragCoverage.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/img_3702-1.jpg\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3024\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1500\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"665\" data-end=\"1169\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/DragCoverage.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/img_3704-1.jpg\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3025\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1500\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"665\" data-end=\"1169\">He\u2019s been in business for ten years, but over the past five, chassis building has gone from a side hustle to a fully dialed-in shop with four full-time employees and cars in every stage of the process.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"665\" data-end=\"1169\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/DragCoverage.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/image.jpg\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3003\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1327\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1171\" data-end=\"1745\">While Fast Lane Fabrication will jump in at any point of a build\u2014wiring, plumbing,or custom fab\u2014the real joy for Jared comes from starting a car from the ground up. \u201cA full build is about two months out, and from start to finish takes around six to eight months,\u201d he says. That\u2019s a tight turnaround in today\u2019s market, and a point of pride for Jared. He\u2019s not just a fabricator\u2014he\u2019s a project manager, planner, and communicator. \u201cMy real job is communication. That\u2019s the key to this business,\u201d he says. \u201cYou\u2019ve got to keep customers updated. Let them know what\u2019s happening.\u201d<img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/DragCoverage.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/JT1-scaled.jpg\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2936\" alt=\"\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1920\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1747\" data-end=\"2011\">Fast Lane mostly builds heads-up, 275-based and LDR cars, but the shop is getting more calls from the Pro Mod and PDRA worlds. Recently, they knocked out a Nova for a Drag-n-Drive setup. Jared\u2019s favorite build platform? \u201cEasy,\u201d he says. \u201cThe \u201967 Mustang Fastback.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1747\" data-end=\"2011\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/DragCoverage.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/img_4062-1.jpg\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3005\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1500\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2013\" data-end=\"2476\">As for pricing, Jared keeps it real. \u201cThese are just ballparks, depends on what people want,\u201d he says. A basic steel-body Pro 275 roller\u2014with chassis, suspension, windows, doors, and front end\u2014starts around $125K. That doesn\u2019t include wheels, tires, electronics, motor, or transmission, and it\u2019s not loaded with titanium. A more complete painted roller, wired and rolling, is closer to $175K. Just drop in your motor and transmission, and it\u2019s race-ready.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2013\" data-end=\"2476\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/DragCoverage.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/img_4066-1.jpg\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3002\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1223\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2478\" data-end=\"2673\">Still, Fast Lane doesn\u2019t cut corners. If it needs a fire shield, it gets a fire shield. \u201cIf you want it done right, it\u2019s going to cost more and take more time. That\u2019s just how it is,\u201d Jared says.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2478\" data-end=\"2673\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/DragCoverage.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/img_4058-1.jpg\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3006\" width=\"2000\" height=\"2000\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2675\" data-end=\"3003\">Despite the competitive nature of the industry, Jared says the chassis-building community is a tight one. \u201cWe can all call each other if we need help or ideas. It\u2019s a good group of guys.\u201d And when he\u2019s not welding or wiring, you\u2019ll find him at the races, learning what\u2019s working on the track so he can bring it back to the shop.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2675\" data-end=\"3003\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/DragCoverage.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/img_4063-1.jpg\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3007\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1500\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3005\" data-end=\"3161\">Jared may not be lining up at the tree every weekend, but make no mistake\u2014he\u2019s one of the guys building the cars that are.
