In the world of bracket racing, few cars built a reputation as dominant, consistent, and legendary as this one. Born as Dragster chassis #4 from Phantom Race Cars, <em data-start=\"623\" data-end=\"630\">Fancy<\/em> quickly became a staple in winners circles around the country, no matter who was in the seat. Most often, it was the talented Gary Williams behind the wheel, but it didn\u2019t seem to matter \u2014 <em data-start=\"820\" data-end=\"827\">Fancy<\/em> had a way of finding the winners circle. Big money bracket races, NHRA national events, Wallys, oversized checks \u2014 this car collected them all.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"369\" data-end=\"975\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/DragCoverage.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/img_9864.jpg\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3091\" width=\"1800\" height=\"1200\"><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"369\" data-end=\"975\">But make no mistake \u2014 the magic behind <em data-start=\"737\" data-end=\"744\">Fancy<\/em> wasn\u2019t just in the chassis. It was the hands that tuned it and the feet that launched it. The Williams family \u2014 <strong data-start=\"857\" data-end=\"893\">Troy and Gary Williams<\/strong>, along with <strong data-start=\"906\" data-end=\"938\">Stephen McCrory (\u201cWilliams\u201d)<\/strong> \u2014 brought this car to life and built its reputation through sheer talent, grit, and relentless drive.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"977\" data-end=\"1024\">It was more than a hot rod. And it\u2019s <strong data-start=\"1201\" data-end=\"1227\">Troy and Gary Williams<\/strong>, in particular, who have been the heart and soul of the operation. While others have climbed into the seat and found success, it was Troy and Gary who consistently elevated the car \u2014 and Over Kill \u2014 to elite status.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1444\" data-end=\"1564\">Simply put, without <strong data-start=\"1464\" data-end=\"1481\">Troy and Gary<\/strong>, <em data-start=\"1483\" data-end=\"1490\">Fancy<\/em> doesn\u2019t exist. Over Kill Motorsports doesn\u2019t exist. And Mitchell knows it.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1059\" data-end=\"1465\">\u201cThese guys aren\u2019t just teammates,\u201d Mitchell said. \u201cThey\u2019ve shaped my life. They\u2019ve been my friends, my brothers. I truly don\u2019t know where I\u2019d be without them.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1728\" data-end=\"1752\"><strong data-start=\"1731\" data-end=\"1752\">The End of an Era<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1728\" data-end=\"1752\">Mitchell has owned plenty of race cars over the years. But <em data-start=\"1118\" data-end=\"1125\">Fancy<\/em> was special. It wasn\u2019t just a machine. It was a teammate, a symbol of everything Over Kill Motorsports stood for: performance, persistence, and pride. Saying goodbye to <em data-start=\"1294\" data-end=\"1301\">Fancy<\/em> after a wreck in 2019 wasn\u2019t like junking a car \u2014 it was like losing a friend. Like burying a dog you grew up with. The end of <em data-start=\"1429\" data-end=\"1436\">Fancy<\/em> felt like the end of an era.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1467\" data-end=\"1732\">\u201cThat car was just different,\u201d Mitchell said. \u201cYou felt like it had its own energy. The drivers were incredible, but there was something about <em data-start=\"1610\" data-end=\"1617\">Fancy<\/em> that gave you a boost \u2014 a little extra edge. Confidence, maybe. You knew when that car rolled up, you had a shot.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1467\" data-end=\"1732\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/DragCoverage.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/img_0065-1.jpg\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3092\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\"><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1734\" data-end=\"1960\">When <em data-start=\"1739\" data-end=\"1746\">Fancy<\/em> crashed, it left a hole. Mitchell searched for what would come next. Another build? A new direction? But one idea kept coming back: you can\u2019t replace a legend \u2014 but maybe, just maybe, you can honor it.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1989\" data-end=\"2163\">And yet, despite the heartbreak, the desire to rebuild \u2014 not replace \u2014 slowly grew. What if the legacy didn\u2019t have to end? Built by Folk Race Cars, fate struck early: the new chassis came off the jig as #4 \u2014 just like the original. The coincidence wasn\u2019t lost on anyone.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2318\" data-end=\"2553\">Todd at Todd\u2019s Extreme Paint laid down the color and flare, faithfully matching the look of the original <em data-start=\"2423\" data-end=\"2430\">Fancy<\/em>, but with just the right touch of his own style. It was familiar, but fresh. A nod to the past with eyes toward the future.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/DragCoverage.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/MC3.jpg\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3079\" alt=\"\" width=\"1284\" height=\"1761\"><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2555\" data-end=\"2803\">And almost immediately, <em data-start=\"2579\" data-end=\"2590\">Fancy 2.0<\/em> did what the original had always done: <em data-start=\"2630\" data-end=\"2635\">win<\/em>. Gary Williams piloted the tribute car to a $25K victory at Farmington Dragway, letting the world know that the legacy wasn\u2019t over \u2014 it was just getting started again. Then, this last weekend Fancy 2.0 was a part of the GABR winning Dream Team.<\/p>\n<p>Mitchell Clary is calling his shot, &#8220;Fancy 2.0 will win multiple additional big money races this year.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2555\" data-end=\"2803\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/DragCoverage.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/MC2.jpg\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3078\" alt=\"\" width=\"662\" height=\"1024\"><\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"2805\" data-end=\"2834\"><strong data-start=\"2808\" data-end=\"2834\">More Than a Car, Again<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2836\" data-end=\"3071\">The question now: can <em data-start=\"2858\" data-end=\"2869\">Fancy 2.0<\/em> live up to the shoes it\u2019s trying to fill? Mitchell knows comparisons will come. The original <em data-start=\"2963\" data-end=\"2970\">Fancy<\/em> built a mythos that few cars ever do.
