NHRA Drag Racing Kicks off today; Friday Gallery

The NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series will kick off another season in sunny Southern California with the tradition-rich Circle K NHRA Winternationals, Feb. 5-8, at historic Auto Club Raceway at Pomona.

The Circle K NHRA Winternationals kicks off the 2015 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season and always features extra work in tech inspection including the “chamber of horrors,” NHRA’s tools for ensuring that all bodies, especially in Funny Car and Pro Stock, confirm to specifications.

Chad Head has a new sponsor for the event, TaylorMade Golf and its AeroBurner brand of drivers, and Head gave the club a thorough tryout on the Auto Club Raceway at Pomona starting line on Thursday.

John Force Racing celebrated its new affiliation with Chevrolet with an appearance and autograph session at local car dealer Mark Christopher Chevrolet in Ontario, Several Force race cars were also on display.
