Davis, Plourd, Tubb, and Weaver Dominate Huntsville Opener

IMG_0082Huntsville, AL — The Spring season is here and what better way to enjoy the gorgeous “temps” than at Huntsville Dragway’s season opener. Several racers did just that, including several “big bucks” racers. When the smoke and dust cleared, three and a half racers remained standing and were crowned the season opener champs.

Now, you may be asking how in the world can you have three and a half champs? Well, Adam Davis and Brad Plourd both marched to the Sportsman final when Davis looked over and says “hey, let’s dial em’ heads up, fourteen flat.” Although both racers were already crowned champs after the even split, Davis defeated Plourd in this unique throttle stop style show for the fans.

In Pro Electronics, it was Danny Weaver, Holly Pond, AL who won the fame and Gloy after defeating M.Hill in the final round. Weaver has been on a streak this season, marching to two quarter-final finishes at Big Dollar Events earlier this year.

In the 4.70 class, Greg Tubb of Tony, AL edged on Benny Quinn in the final round.
