King of the Coast Gears Up for Race #2 with Past Champs

Blaine Stewart (far lane ) captured his first career victory at the season opener

Gulfport, MS — One of the longest standing Drag Racing series in the South returns to Gulfport Dragway this weekend for big bucks in Pro Electronics, Sportsman, and Jr. Dragster. Although the opportunity to big dollars is a motivating factor to attend the Huntsville Engine King of the Coast (KOC), the stakes are rising as drivers work towards that main goal; the 2015 championship.

As we head into race #2 this weekend, the bullseye continues to focus on two drivers who marched their way to the 2014 KOC Championship. David Reynolds captured his second King of the Coast Championship in 2014 after leading the points in the Pro Electronics class while Opie Pearce captured the Sportsman championship.

However, you can’t count out elite racers such as Scotty Taylor who swept the KOC season opener earlier this year by winning both races in the sportsman class.

Blaine Stewart also highlighted the season opener after capturing his first ever career victory, defeating Jamie Alexander in the final round of Pro Electronics.

One things for sure is the Huntsville Engine King of the Coast series is a great time with awesome racers. Be sure to attend this weekend’s race and you won’t regret it.
