KURT JOHNSON TO UPGRADE TRACK SURFACE AT GULFPORT DRAGWAY IN JULY. NEW ASPHALT, REPAIR, LEVEL & GRIND, FOR SMOOTH SURFACE

“Gulfport Dragway IN Gulfport, MS is excited to announce that Total Venue Concepts and Kurt Johnson will begin our track surface renovation project beginning the first week of July. Kurt was on property in January and profiled the track for us to gain a valuable starting point. The project will consist of leveling and grinding from 100’ behind the starting line thru the 1/8 mile. The first 330’ of concrete of the track will get a facelift with expansion joints being repaired, leveling, and grinding. From 330’ to 800’ the asphalt will be milled, and new asphalt laid with TVC’s proprietary asphalt mix designed for dragstrips. After all is complete, the track will get a fresh leveling and grind to ensure a smooth racing surface.

This project has been on the top of our WISH LIST since we started operating Gulfport Dragway last year. This is a game changer for racers and spectators as it will give us the ability to further diversify the types of racing events we can host. After Kurt and his team at TVC are finished we will have a track surface that will match National Event level facilities. We are very appreciative of all the racers and spectators that support Gulfport Dragway. Your support has allowed us to make improvements such as this to continually improve the facility.”
