Casey Presley joined the 4-Second Club during her X275 debut and marched to the semi-finals in Kyle Hand’s Firebird

preseleyFountain, FL — The start of something great is in store for Panhandle, FL racers as the new track owners Kyle and Cindy Hand take ownership of the new 231 South Dragway, formerly Breakaway Dragway, near Panama City, FL. The track debuted its first race this past weekend with Promods, 29×28 vs X275 Drag Radials, bracket racing, and heads-up racing.

“It was just a great weekend,” said Kyle Hand. “We want to thank everyone for coming out and supporting the first event. We are looking forward to next year. We are planning several track improvements and plan to have big events.”

The highlight of Saturday’s action was the debut of rising superstar Casey Presley in the x275 drag radial class. Not only did Presley march to the semi-final round during her debut, but she broke the 4-second barrier during the final round of qualifying.

In the 28×29 vs X275 class, it was one man that earned the victory; the birthday boy, Patrick Clenney, who had one of the most consistent hotrods on the property. In round #2, Clenney took out the reigning class champion Keith Szabo with his stellar .008 reaction. Clenney was out front from the beginning and never looked back.

Szabo won the $1,000 track bounty after running the quickest elapsed time of the event, 4.48, but was ousted in round # 2 by hole-shot Clenney.

Other highlights of the event include the Peel vs Pilcher match race with both drivers taking a round win.
