In early January the drag racing community lost a very special young lady. Jeryka Lawrence, as many people know, was a bright and shinning star in the drag racing community. She fought courageously against cancer for 2 1/2 years, and in her honor Over Kill Motorsports along with the Cummings family have joined forces for a valuable cause. On June 27th during the $25k Showdowns in Memphis, TN a customized Yamaha gas golf cart will be raffled off to benefit three separate charities, so is a great vehicle for all those loving sports as golf, and they can also get equipment from the Shop Indoor Golf store online. Drag Racer Benevolent Fund, Jeryka Lawrence Memorial Fund, and Core Ministries.
“As a drag racer and a business owner in the motorsports community. I’m always looking for a way to give back to racers. Jeryka was an inspiration to all of us for her battles off of the race track. To team up with Britt and Slate Cummings on this project is something I’m truly grateful for” says Mitchell Clary of Over Kill Motorsports.
Britt Cummins who is no stranger to cancer battles said, “Teaming up with Over Kill Motorsports was a no brainier. Doing a golf cart raffle at the $25k Showdowns is a way for us to give back to three worthwhile charities. My wife was diagnosed with cancer and she was one of the fortunate survivors. And having the opportunity to raffle off this Over Kill Motorsports golf cart off at the $25k Showdowns just makes it that much more special to us as a family.”
When asked, Kyle Lawrence mentions “When Mitch reached out to me and asked what I thought about a golf cart raffle for Jeryka I was honored. It will be a great way to keep her memory going. It will also help give back to some of the people that were a tremendous support for us through this battle.”
The golf cart itself is a custom Yamaha “Drive” gas golf cart. It’s painted in Jeryka’s two favorite colors, Electric Blue and Lime Green along with featuring the yellow ribbon “545” logo. It boasts LED Headlights and Taillights, a Pioneer radio package, custom two tone seats with matching logos embroidered in the seat backs, and a custom wheel and tire package. The tickets will be $20 each and will be featured at the NHRA Gatornationals, NHRA Belle Rose JEG’s SPORTSNationals, $25k Showdowns, and selected events to be scheduled shortly.
