Lancaster, NY (February 11, 205) – Lancaster National Speedway & Dragway has announced a revamped Quick 16 program for the 2015 drag racing season to renew interest in the exciting class.

The Quick 16 class traditionally pits the 16 fastest cars on the dragway property on a given Friday night in a heads up bracket. The eight quickest Dragsters (center-steer) and eight quickest “Doorslammers” (cars) (left steer) will qualify for each event.

topdrgsterLancaster will run the Quick 16 class seven times in 2015. They will be a part of the first weekend of weekly IHRA points racing on May 8-9. They will also join the regular Friday night drag racing program on June 12, July 24, August 7, September 4 and September 18 as well as the points finale on Saturday, October 10.

Quick 16 will pay $2,000 to the weekly winner, $750 to the runner-up and semi-finalists will take home $400 each. The weekly purse will be $3,550 based on a full field of 16 cars. The weekly entry fee for the Quick 16 class is $200.

Lancaster National Dragway will crown a Quick 16 track champion for the driver that accumulates the most points during the season. The points fund will pay $1,500 to the champion, $500 to second place with third and fourth places pocketing $250 each. Teams wishing to chase the track title will pay a $200 points fee.

The Quick 16 track champion will also be eligible to compete for the brand new K-100 Fuel Treatment/Bauer Racing Lancaster National Dragway Grand Championship. This new program gives the class champions a chance to run for $5,000 in cash and prizes and become the overall king or queen of Lancaster drag racing.
