Memphis, TN — Race one of the American Race Cars 25K Showdowns presented by Vintage Trailers at Memphis International Raceway is complete and Stephen McCrory is $10,000 richer after defeating Ricky Jones in the big dollar final round. McCrory put together a string of dynamic packages that led him to the final round, while Jones turned it red in the final round. It was an all Georgia final round.
Ryan McCann was the lone semi-finalist. The quarter-finals included Lester Adkins, Allen Wickell, and Kenny Underwood.
McCrory said “we are going to take this Schmidt hotrod with an FTI converter transmission, with an APD carburetor and try to win again in the $25,000 race. I also want to thank Mickey Thompson tires for the best tire in the business.
The first of two 25K Showdowns began at the conclusion of the final round and was postponed until Saturday due to inclement weather. On Saturday, both 25K Showdowns will be contested along with the 32-Car dragster shootout.
Folk Cummings Racing said “great start to the weekend. We have been faught the weather on day one but we thank everyone for coming out to support this event. We are still planning to complete all races as planned.”
