Cecil, GA — It’s not everyday that I get the opportunity to park next to a champion. Well, I had this opportunity this past Saturday at the RaceMart Big Bucks Blast at South Georgia Motorsports Park (SGMP).
Several racers only dream of becoming a champion of some sort but have never accomplished what rising superstar Cody Harrison accomplished during his 2014 racing season – the US 19 Dragway Super Pro Track Champion; and it was his first year competing in the class!
At age 20, Harrison has already added a number of victories to his drag racing resume. It all started at age 13 in Jr. Dragster for the Thomasville, GA racer. That same year, he managed to capture his first track champion. Years later, he progressed to the footbrake class where he won his first NHRA Wally after winning the Open Comp Class at SGMP.
2015 was his first year entering the Super Pro class and he went straight to the top, winning another track championship. The youngster has also won multiple races, including some event wins at Breakaway Dragway near Panama City, FL.
I’d say this up and coming star has a bright future ahead.
Harrison was quick to thank his grandma, grandpa, dad, and Superior Transmission for his success.
