DC Night of Fire Event Information for Racers and Spectators!

One of the biggest drag racing events in the South, the DragCoverage Night of Fire, will take over Alabama International Dragway in Steele, AL, on August 24, 2024.

The event will showcase an exciting lineup including Outlaw Promods, Nitrous Promods, Jet Dragsters, Wheelstanders, Bracket Racing, and Index Racing!

It’s a family-friendly event that’s fun for all ages!

Frequently Asked Questions:

When will the Promods be racing? We have two Promod Classes and expecting over 20+ cars! Some of them can accelerate from 0 to 200+ MPH in just 3.7 seconds. The Promods will be competing on Saturday, August 24 and one round of qualifying on Friday Night at Alabama international Dragway.

They will have two rounds of qualifying, beginning a 3:30 PM on Saturday, and then race until we have one winner. Friday Night Qualifying begins at 7PM

The Promods are schedule to compete approximately evey 1 1/2 – 2 hours throughout the day. We will be racing other classes between each round.

Can I bring a cooler? Coolers are not allowed inside the admission gate. Correction to our last answer. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Will there be Vendors selling Food? Yes, the track has a concession stand that sells food and drinks.

Can I bring a tent? Yes, but tents are not allowed in the grandstand

How much is admission? $25, cash only. Kids 10&Under Get in Free. We do not accept credit cards, Cashapp, venmo, or Paypal.

Should i bring ear protection? Yes, you should and sunscreen is also recommended

What time should I arrive? The gates open at 10AM and the sportsman classes will start racing at Noon. The Promods make their first pass at 3:00 PM and will race approximately 6 rounds up until approximately 10:30 PM at night. However, if you want a good fence row parking spot, we advise spectators to arrive when the gates open.

The Jet Car and Wheelstander will make 2 exhibition passes on Saturday, August 24 with the first around dusk, 7:00 PM.

Where do spectators Park? Is there a parking fee? No additional price to park, unless you would like to park on the Pit side, which is $100. Spectator parking is Free and located on the opposite side of the entrance. We will direct you where to go.

We do have a VIP parking on the spectator side for $50
