“Out of the Weeds and into the Winner’s Circle”

Davis made the trip to Virginia to pull this “barn find” out of the weeds.

Montgomery, AL – It’s not everyday that you run across a unique vehicle such as this Hot Rod featured in DragCoverage.com Magazine. In a drag racing world full of Camaros, Novas, and Mustangs, Adam Davis’ 1973 Pontiac Firebird definitely stands out. With its beautiful orange candy paint job and stock appearance, it is a “looker.”

Davis drove to Virginia and pulled this “barn find” out of the weeds. Like every other restoration story, this Pontiac classic started out as a major project for Davis. Davis spent several nights turning this rusty ole heep into one of the most gorgeous hotrods that you will find at any track.

Davis debuted this beautiful hotrod at Montgomery Raceway Park’s annual Hangover Nationals and he did it in style, winning the opening race in no-box. This was his first race of the year and the first time that this car has been entered into competition. I would say that this hotrod is ready for 2015 competition.

Out of the weeds and into the winner’s circle. You can imagine the excitement from Davis. Hours and hours of work and he parks this whip into victory lane.

Although this is the Firebird’s first victory, Davis is no stranger to the winner’s circle. The Cullman AL racer has a career and resume that includes several prestigious wins in various classes in the sport, including four National Event wins in seven finals. He’s also won a 30k at the Million, a couple of 20k races, several 10k races, and numerous bracket race wins. His recent victories were behind the wheel of Tony Thrasher’s beautiful ’67 Nova. Davis was quick to recognize and thank Thrasher for the opportunity.

In 2015, Davis plans to compete in the NHRA stock class, qualifying for both F/stock automatic and G/Stock automatic. Events include Gainesville Divisional, Valdosta Divisional, the Gatornationals, Belle Rose Sportsman Natonals, and also Nationals including Charlotte, Atlanta, Bristol, St. Louis, and back to Charlotte.
