PITTSBORO, N.C. March 27, 2015: The Drag 965-backed Championship team of Jason Harris is joining forces with Travis Harvey and his team owners Vaughn Myles and Jimmy and Brad Boone for the remainder of 2015. These two longtime competitors will now be working as one, looking to be double trouble for competitors in PDRA Pro Nitrous. Harvey finished eighth in Pro Nitrous points in 2014, but he really proved his driving prowess in Top Dragster, becoming the first-ever PDRA Top Dragster Champion.
Jimmy and Brad Boone are supplying Harvey’s ride, a 2014 Jerry Bickel Camaro, formally driven by Danny Perry. Both cars will be based out of the Robert Hayes Motorsports shop in Pittsboro, NC. Hayes, who tuned Harris to his amazing 2014 season and is one of the most sought after tuners in the business, will act as tuner for both cars.
“We’re very excited to have these two young guys team up together,” stated Bob Harris, the patriarch of Jason Harris Racing. “Jason and Travis basically grew up together at Piedmont Dragway and have been friends and competitors for many years now. They will work well together, and we expect great things from this partnership.”
The connection between the Harris family and Travis Harvey goes way back. The elder Harris actually helped Harvey get his first ride. Now the two young guns will be looking to become one of the most formidable forces in all of Pro Nitrous.
“This team is made up of a bunch of great people,” expressed Jimmy Boone. “We have a really great opportunity to do very well. We’re looking forward to it and are excited about it.”
Harris and Harvey also plan to make appearances at select Big Dog Shootouts and Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod (EOPM) events this season.
