Gulfport Dragway's 1st Annual Guaranteed $20K No Prep Race Is Here to Stay; Joe Rabiola Crowned Champion

Gulfport, MS — “Not bad for bracket race promoters” was TJ Pruitt’s response after seeing a successful 1st Annual SDPC Raceshop Great American GUARANTEED $20,000.00 Small Tire Shootout at Gulfport Dragway in Gulfport, MS. Actually, my response was “that was a bad ass race.”

In fact, the track has already announced the dates for the 2nd annual – November 29-30th, so mark your calendars. This annual event is here to stay!

Gulfport Dragway hosted their first big No Prep event since the new operators Gaylon Rolison, Britt Cummins, and Tommy Castanedo took over the track. Racers traveled from across the country for a shot at the guaranteed $20,000 purse and other classes which also included Daily Driver, Big Tire, naturally Aspirated, a tailgate class, true street, 6.50 Index, and 7.00 Index.

When the dust and smoke cleared, it was Joe Rabiola in the winner’s circle after defeating Cody Wagoner in the final round.

Street Outlaws No Prep Kings star Bobby Ducote won the second chance race after defeating Brent Self in the final round.
